This generation is very big on taking pictures. Whether it be of themselves, the food they're bout to eat, or just of the pretty scenery they are walking by. That being said we take a lot of pictures and most of the time only end up posting about one or two of them. Another thing this generation does a lot is editing; we crop, brighten, and take different angles just to get an Instagram shot. Most of the time people don't know that when this is all being done they are actually using compositional concepts. The compositional concepts I choose to use are lines, symmetry, blank space, viewpoint and curve.

Photos:

Lines
This picture I decided to use the lines from inside the toaster to resemble my compositional concept. Even though the lines aren't straight they are still the first thing my eyes are drawn to when I look at this picture.

Blank space
This picture was kind of difficult to take because I had to have one of my friends hold up the toaster so I could angle it the right way to get all the blank space from the wall, making the toaster the main object in the photo.

Symmetry
I think this photo resembles symmetry because of the top of the stove is the same on both sides even though it isn't exactly the same it is very similar.

Viewpoint
I put my own personal twist on viewpoint. When researching what viewpoint was I saw that many people were taking the object they were taking a photo of and would look at it a different way than we normally see it. For this picture I took viewpoint in a different way. Instead, I put it in a location that it wouldn't typically be in, therefore the way we are viewing it is different setting than normal but not from the angle, from the background behind the toaster.

Curve
For this picture I used the cord of the toaster to resemble curve. When you think of a toaster, curves are usually not one of the first things to pop into your mind. Tha'ts why I like this picture because its not expected.
